The Orona Hotel was located on the planet Kanzi. A few months after the end of the Clone Wars, the scientist Galen Erso, his wife Lyra, and their daughter Jyn traveled to the hotel to meet with Lieutenant Commander Orson Krennic of the newly-formed Galactic Empire. Krennic assured Erso that the travel expenses would be paid for by the Empire. Rendezvousing in the hotel's atrium, they watched Krennic arrive with a stormtrooper contingent. Krennic led Erso to a private room in the hotel before offering him a position working as part of the Empire's Project Celestial Power.[1]
In addition to the atrium and private rooms, the Orona Hotel featured a mural of three Bith artisans that had been laser-etched into a wall of polished stone. The mural recounted the history of the former Galactic Republic all the way up until the inception of the Empire. A likeness of Emperor Palpatine was the crown of the mural.[1]
