Ordnance impellers were unusual weapon attachments used to propel explosive devices.
Characteristics
Taking on a variety of forms, from a proton grenade on wheels, a small droid, to a hovering thermal detonator; an ordnance impeller could be any device that allowed a Grenade or explosive charge to be capable of directed self-propulsion. They typically cost 500 credits on the market. Notable models included the Ghelrar Consortium Multipurpose Repulsor Unit and some modified Rebaxan Columni MSE-6 series repair droids.[1]
Behind the scenes
Ordnance impellers were first mentioned in Fully Operational,[1] a 2018 sourcebook for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[2]
