Oo-Ta Goo-Ta was a modified YT-1300 light freighter owned and operated by the Rodian Chordak. Known as one of the fastest ships in the Minos Cluster, Chordak hoped to catch the attention of the Galactic Empire with his ship and receive more valuable Imperial assignments like the regular run to the prison to Gesaril.
Behind the scenes
Phonetically, "Oo-Ta Goo-Ta" closely resembles the first two words spoken by Greedo, a Rodian, as he confronts Han Solo in the 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.[3] The short story "A Hunter's Fate: Greedo's Tale" presents Greedo's famous line as "Oona goota, Solo?"[4] ("Going somewhere, Solo?")[3][4] and implies that Greedo is speaking Rodese,[4] whereas the reference book Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide establishes the spelling as "Koona t'chuta, Solo?" and clarifies that Greedo is actually speaking Huttese.[5]
