Oldspeak Basic was, like Old Galactic Standard, one of the historical, exctinct incarnations of the Galactic Basic, the most used language in the galaxy. The Oldspeak word cephalon, meaning "head," was kept in modern Basic to designate a particular Non-Human species that possessed multiple sub-brains.[1]
Behind the scenes
The only known word in Oldspeak Basic, cephalon, strongly resembles[1] the Ancient Greek word κεφαλή (kephalē)[2] and has the same meaning.[1][2]
