Although this article is based on canonical information, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

After the establishment of the Galactic Empire, an Imperial occupation force along with scientists from the Imperial Corps of Bioengineers were dispatched to occupy and recover medicinal properties found on Iakar. The Iakaru became desperate to drive the Empire away, and built or stole starships to escape from the planet, and eventually find a way to oust the Empire from Iakar.[1]

Behind the scenes

The occupation of Iakar was first mentioned in Dawn of Rebellion, a canon roleplaying 2018 sourcebook that is based on Star Wars Rebels and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The book was published by Fantasy Flight Games and was authored by John Dunn, Tom Sorenson, Sterling Hershey, Jonathan Julius, Keith Ryan Kappel, Tim Huckelberry, Jason Marker, and James M. Spahn.[1]
