An occupation was undertaken by the Galactic Empire on the planet Champala during the Imperial Era. The Galactic Empire expanded mining and manufacturing operations tenfold, resulted in the poisoning of[1] the already tainted[2] oceans on Champala by industrial pollution. Many Chagrian joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and became valuable in securing the liberation of other water worlds, including Mon Cala.[1]
