The Nuun were members of the Yuuzhan Vong Warrior caste which were designated to become the physical incarnation of the Hunters. They wore advanced versions of the Cloak of Nuun, and were better trained than most other Hunters. Only one in a thousand Warriors would be designated a Nuun.
