A nue was, according to a song, a nocturnal creature. When human Jedi Tsubaki trekked to a royal palace to confront Sith Lord Masago, Tsubaki's travel guides Senshu and Kamahachi sang the song that referred to a nue that cried, believing the music had the power to ward off evil spirits.[1]

The nue was mentioned in "Akakiri," a non-canon short film released as part of the first volume of the Star Wars: Visions series, written by Yuichiro Kido and directed by Eunyoung Choi. The animated short, produced by Science SARU, was released on Disney+[1] on September 22, 2021.[2]
Nue (in Japanese, 鵺) is a mythical folktale monster of Japan. It is described as having the head of a monkey, the legs of a tiger, the body of a raccoon dog and the front half of a snake for a tail.[3]
