Nilya Fek'ra was a Human female criminal operative who served as the elegant but ruthless right-hand of an unnamed Cotellier-based crime lord during the early years of the Galactic Civil War.
Biography
A long-time fixture in Cotellier’s illicit business circles, Nilya Fek'ra rose from dockside runner to become the personal “executive assistant” to a prosperous—and notoriously secretive—contraband magnate known only as “the Boss.” By the time of the Smoking Blaster incident, she effectively managed the syndicate’s day-to-day dealings, brokering cargoes of Nova crystals and military-grade subcomponents through intimidation, charm, and careful double-talk. While awaiting a shipment of stolen droid matrixes, Fek'ra learned that the pirate captain Yosger had intercepted the cargo and, worse, placed a 3,000-credit bounty on the smugglers who were meant to deliver it. Feigning concern, she had her own thugs rescue the wayward crew at Dravian Starport, escorted them to Cotellier’s primary mining platform, and brought them before her in a lavish upper-level suite. There, Fek'ra revealed the double-cross and offered the spacers a way out: help her raid Yosger’s hidden moon-base, retrieve the matrixes, and the their ship would be spared.[1]
Depending on the player characters’ decisions, Fek'ra may accompany the strike team personally, remain aboard the Smoking Blaster operating as mission control, or even betray the heroes mid-operation in order to see the loot and their vessel if the opportunity presents itself.[1]
Personality and traits
Graceful, immaculately dressed and unfailingly poised, Nilya Fek'ra projected an air of cultured sophistication that concealed a predatory streak. She spoke little when silence would unsettle an opponent, delighted in withholding information to maintain leverage, and was visibly smug whenever she believed she understood a situation better than her adversaries. Despite that arrogance, she was scrupulous about honoring explicit deals, recognising reputation as a form of currency in Cotellier’s underworld.[1]
Powers and abilities
Fek'ra was quite versatile. She was skilled in both melee and with blasters, had strong social skills including the ability to command and intimidate, deceive and persuade, and conduct business negotiations. She was also skilled in acts of subterfuge from sneaking to pickpocketing and forgery. Finally she had broad knowledge of alien species, cultures, and was able to navigate both legal and criminal markets with ease.[1]
Equipment
As part of her standard equipment she had a blaster pistol, a vibroknife, a molecular stiletto concealed in her boot, fancy clothing, a personal datapad, comlink, and a microtransceiver for her comlink and subspace radio hidden in her ear.[1]
Behind the scenes
Nilya Fek'ra was created for “Tales of the Smoking Blaster,” an introductory adventure printed in the second-edition Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game Gamemaster Handbook (1992) by West End Games. Within the module she serves as a patron and potential antagonist.[1]
