The Nilg system was located in the Alderath sector,[1] a part of the New Territories portion of[2] the Mid Rim.[1] By approximately 5 ABY,[3] the Ithorian gangster Tolad Dor was active in the Nilg system, a fact that was eventually noted by the New Republic General Airen Cracken in an entry of the datafile Wanted by Cracken[4]—the initial version of which was published in 7 ABY[3]—dedicated to the saboteur Ostan Atur.[4]
Behind the scenes
The Nilg system was first mentioned in the "Wanted by Cracken" segment of the May 1996 tenth issue of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journal. The segment was authored by C. Robert Carey.[4] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the system in grid square L-7.[2]

"Wanted by Cracken" — Star Wars Adventure Journal 1 establishes that the "Wanted by Cracken" segment of the Star Wars Adventure Journal represents an in-universe update to the datafile Wanted by Cracken, the original version of which is presented in the sourcebook Wanted by Cracken. The latter work is dated to three years after the Battle of Endor, and since The New Essential Chronology dates that conflict to 4 ABY, the placement of the sourcebook therefore translates to 7 ABY. Furthermore,
"Wanted by Cracken" — Star Wars Adventure Journal 10 establishes that Tolad Dor was active in the Nilg system at least two years prior to the segment's setting.
