- "It is done. So many years, so many mistakes, my health and my body withered away... but it is done. The concern for my physical presence is at an end. I am as the Lord of Hunger was. I need no body, no corporeal being. My reach extends far beyond the limitations of the flesh. My power will spread, overwhelm. Corrupt. Consume. Beautiful nihrot, my greatest creation, slithering forth... impervious to frost, immune to flame. Irrepressible. Impenetrable. Unconstrained."
- ―Lord Kanoth's research notes into Nihrot
A Nihrot-infested corridor within the Unmasked research station
Nihrot was the semi-organic product of the Sith alchemist Lord Kanoth's research into Sith alchemy and the Mass Shadow Generator on the Unmasked research station. What exactly nihrot was is unclear, however it was created by Lord Kanoth and seemed to be connected in some way to his physical body. According to Kanoth, the creation of nihrot made him similar to Darth Nihilus, who was a wound in the Force, and consumed all around him. Nihrot was almost indestructible, and was instrumental in Lord Kanoth's creation of the nihrotic monstrosity and Watchdog. Despite large portions of the research station being covered in nihrot, Lord Kanoth was eventually killed by the Alliance Commander in the mission to the R-4 anomaly and with the station's destruction, nihrot was presumably destroyed alongside it.[2][3]
