A networked slicing uplink was an illegal hardware and software upgrade for droids to augment their slicing capabilities.[1]
Characteristics
A highly illegal set of droid modifications, the networked slicing uplink masked slicing activity by routing them through a droid's subsystems, filling a slicing signature with junk data from the droid's base-level processes. Able to be paired with external tools or internal slicing suites, the end result masked a droid's slicing activity, and made them extremely difficult to identify or trace - even for skilled slicers.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Networked slicing uplink was first mentioned in the 2016 Star Wars Roleplaying supplement Special Modifications, which was published by Fantasy Flight Games.[1]
