Nest pods were a type of green spherical plant that grew on trees on the jungle planet Akiva. During the reign of the Galactic Empire nest pods were cultivated on farms, such as the Mozampa Farm in Akiva's Myrra Valley, and sold in the Market District of Myrra, Akiva's capital city.[2]

Behind the scenes

Nest pods first appeared though unnamed in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.[2] They were later identified as "Nest pods" in the 2025 reference book The Art of Star Wars: Outlaws.[1] Concept art for the pods was done by the game's Art Director Marthe Jonkers[3] and was inspired by a combination of nuts and inspect nests.[1] Vegetation artist Pierre Afoumado modeled the nest pods along with other foliage assets used on Akiva.[4]

We had some ideas of what you could find in the jungle, ranging from strange otherworldly plants to ancient orbital ruins. I also worked on some sketches for the bala bala speeder, the way to get around in the streets of Myrra, Akiva's main city!" (backup link)
