Captain Ness was an Ebruchi male who led the Ebruchi Burning Gear flotilla, a part of the Ebruchi fleet, from his flagship, the Burning Gear. He served the Ebruchi Common Cork armada's high captain. Ness's murder would tag his murderers as wanted escapees if they remained in the Unknown Regions. The captain was a vain Ebruchi who was pleased with challenges, trinkets, and alcohol.

An Ebruchi male, Ness was a captain who led the Ebruchi Burning Gear pirate flotilla—which was part of the Ebruchi fleet and included hundreds of pirates—from his flagship, the Burning Gear. The captain served the Ebruchi high captain Common Cork, who led an armada. Reports from Ness could bring the Flux Screw fleet's weight on those who did not comply to his demands, and his murder would brand those who killed him as wanted runaways while they remained in the Unknown Regions.[1]

Personality and traits

The captain was an obese, narcissistic Ebruchi sybarite who was fascinated by others' cultures and enjoyed puzzles. Ness desired stimulation, asking adventurers to tell him wonderful tales or to challenge his intelligence with riddles and games of chance. As soon as the captain became bored, however, he would shoot them with his shrapnel pistol for causing him boredom. The captain could be tricked into decreasing his anger with gifts and alcohol. He could also could be manipulated with promises of treasure, if he learned of someone's trickery, however, he would mercilessly strike back.[1]

Equipment

Ness wore gold bands around his mouth feelers and purple feathers in his expensive clothing's junctions. The captain possessed a shrapnel pistol and a datapad.[1]

The captain spoke the Ebruchese and Sy Bisti languages.[1]
