Naarud Nyydo was a male Gand criminal living during the Galactic War. Imprisoned on Belsavis by the Galactic Republic, Nyydo was forcibly drafted into the Project Noble Focus, which forced alien inmates of different species to compete against each other to learn their strenths and weaknesses. However, around 3641 BBY a riot broke out and many of the prisoners involved in the project got free. In particular, Nyydo and his fellow Gand went insane, hunting down those responsible for their torture. They captured many colleagues of Doctor Everis, on whose behest a Republic citizen freed the prisoners and killed the Gand, including Nyydo.[2]

Annihilation establishes that the Treaty of Coruscant collapsed approximately eighteen months prior, or in 3641 BBY, and as Act III occurs after the treaty's collapse, the act begins sometime between 3641 BBY and 3640 BBY. This article assumes that Belsavis, as the start of Act III, takes place around the end of 3641 BBY.
