- "A woman here in Mos Espa bought the legs. Her name was ahh... Syndil, maybe. Anyway she has her own problem she would like help with, and will be contacting you soon."
- ―Watto, to a spacer
Syndil Na'Marr was a woman who resided on Tatooine during the Galactic Civil War.[1] In 1 ABY,[2] Syndil Na'Marr bought the legs from a R2 unit to the junk dealer Watto. However, the droid was wanted by both Imperial Commander Barrezz and Rebel Captain Bastra and an Imperial Captain soon confiscated the legs. One of Syndil's friend, a Bothan pilot, later went after the Imperial Captain and managed to ambush and destroy the Captain's AT-ST in the Mospic High Range. However, the pilot was downed and unable to contact Syndil Na'Marr. When a spacer looking for the droid legs approached Syndil, she agreed to give them if the spacer was able to rescue her missing pilot friend. The spacer thus went to the mountains, found the downed pilot and finally recovered the droid legs from hostile Tusken Raiders in the area.[1]
Behind the scenes
Syndil Na'Marr was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[3] Syndil Na'Marr was added to the game as part of the "Legacy Quest" with the release of the "Publish 25," a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.[4] In the first version of the quest "Leg Work," players had to visit Na'Marr and discuss her. This quest was shortened upon the release of "Publish 27" and the woman directly contacted the player by comm in the new version of the quest. In consequence, Syndil Na'Marr's character was removed from the game.[5]

Star Wars Galaxies (post-NGE) — Legacy Quest: "Leg Work" on Tatooine
- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
