Murphis Sewellis was a scientist. Sewellis proposed a theory on the radiant energy of cross crystal focus, which he laid out in a treatise on the structures of Force-attuned kyber crystals and the focusing abilities of a triple-density crystal matrix.[1] By approximately 530 BBY,[2] Sewellis's theory was considered "silly" and easily disproven.[1]

In 230 BBY,[2] aspiring scientist Avon Starros, who had been kidnapped by the Nihil pirates threatening the Outer Rim Territories, was caught just after sending out a distress signal. Starros, who had been forced to work as the assistant of the weapons expert Dr. Zadina Mkampa, attempted to save her own life by claiming she had been looking up files on Sewellis's theory in order to assist Mkampa's work.[1]
