- "Avon hates joppa stew. She ate it for a month straight when we were on Mon Cala during a summit. It was the only thing I was programmed to prepare at the time."
- ―J-6, to a group of individuals
A summit was held on[1] the planet[3] Mon Cala[1] between 235 BBY and 232 BBY.[2] At the summit, the human female Avon Starros was forced to eat joppa stew for a month straight, as it was the only thing her nanny droid J-6 was programmed to prepare. Having to eat the stew for a month straight caused Starros to hate the dish.[1]
In 232 BBY,[2] after a group of individuals—including Starros and J-6—landed on the moon Wevo after their ship had been sabotaged by the Nihil pirates, the Dalnan Honesty Weft informed the group that the only food they had access to was joppa stew. This made J-6 make a noise which the Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh thought sounded like something between a laugh and snort, and she asked the droid what the matter was. In response, J-6 informed the group of the summit and of Starros' hatred of the stew because of having to eat it for a month.[1]
Behind the scenes
The summit was mentioned in the 2021 junior novel The High Republic: A Test of Courage, written by Justina Ireland and published as part of[1] Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.[4]
