The Model 451 heat exchanger was a model of heat shielding available as an armor enhancement during the Galactic Civil War between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire following the Battle of Yavin. The system cost 1000 credits to install and was produced by Atlas Corp. The purpose of the system was to allow its wearer to survive at high temperatures using active and passive cooling systems, an insulated body glove and armor coating. Any full body suit of sealable armor could have the Model 451 installed.[1]
