A Chiss male was the son of the Chiss Ascendancy nation's Mitth family Patriarch Mitth'omo'rossodo "Thomoro". Some centuries after[2] 5019 BBY,[1] an enemy beared down on the Ascendancy capital planet of Csilla. The Chiss used the Starflash, an energy weapon, against their opponent, which required twenty individuals to operate—resulting in the death of all twenty. Members of the Mitth volunteered for the task, including the Thomoro's son and his brothers, who insisted they face the same dangers as the rest of the Mitth. The Chiss emerged victorious in the battle, and the Mitth family was elevated to the status of a ruling family for their bravery. Thomoro was granted the Stybla family honorific "odo" for her sons' sacrifice, as well as the epithet "The Tragic".[2]

Behind the scenes

Thomoro's son was mentioned in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, the final volume of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[2]
