After operations against mercenaries undertaken by the Rebel Alliance on Tatooine, Colonel Jennica Pierce saw an opportune moment to ally rebel forces on Tatooine with Kekit's clan, a Jawa clan led by Kekit, by aiding them in return for the Jawas aiding the rebels navigate the treacherous Tatooine landscape. The campaign the rebels embarked on to aid Kekit would include fighting off Tusken Raiders and mercenaries.[1]
