The Mirage was a mountainous region on Toshara, a moon located in the Outer Rim Territories. The region was located southwest of Mirogana Valley and the capital city of Mirogana. A canyon known as Mirogana Gate or simply the Gate was located on the border of the Mirage and Mirogana Valley. The Gate had a shallow river running through it and was an important windfishing spot for the local Tosharans. Due to its mountainous nature, the region included a number of natural rock formations including Trapper's Gully, Carver's Maze, and Spine Mountain as well as at least one flooded cave in the cliffs near Mirogana Gate.[1]
The native winged aglis flyers nested in the region as well as flew along the heavy winds that ran through Mirogana Gate leading to its popularity as a windfishing spot. The native Robuma roamed the shores of the river that ran through the Gate.[1]
By 3 ABY,[2] a large portion of the region was controlled by the Pyke Syndicate in which they operated a workshop built into a rock mound where they striped down stolen starships. The Pykes also controlled a stash house in the region that overlooked Mirogana Gate. During 3 ABY, a group of shipjackers called the Starfallers had a base at the base of Trapper's Gully.[1]
