Miner droids were automatons used by the Trade Federation on the Outer Rim volcano planet Eos. The droids mined Eos for the droid factory there.[1] The droids were oval-shaped and followed set routes.[2] In 32 BBY,[3] Vana Sage encountered the droids after escaping a Trade Federation contract infringement.[1]
Behind the scenes
The miner droids appear in mission 4 of the 2001 video game Star Wars: Starfighter. In that mission, the player has the option of hunting down all eight to destroy them and fulfill the bonus objective, although doing so does not affect the storyline.
