The mind rack was a Rakatan device that allowed the person placed in it to concentrate their Force powers, but it caused them severe pain and could even lead to their death. In 25,793 BBY, Predor Skal'nas placed Force Hound Xesh, who was temporarily lent to him by his master Tul'kar, on a mind rack so that he could project his Force shadow into the Deep Core of the galaxy and find the location of the Force-rich world of Tython.[1]
