Mike Jackson is a Canadian artist, game developer and independent filmmaker. He contributed artwork to numerous Star Wars game supplements published by West End Games in the 1990s, most notably the image showing an Ewok on the boarding ladder of an X-wing starfighter which appeared in the Star Wars Gamemaster Handbook in 1993 and may have inspired the "mythical" character of Kettch used in Aaron Allston's series of X-Wing novels.

Jackson's artwork was noted for its clean lines and sense of realism in addition to the research he put into the composition and the technology depicted in each drawing.

Currently Mike is devoted to solely working in film. One of his early works, the short Dial 'A' for Alphaman, was picked up for airing on the Sci-fi Network in 2003.

Mike Jackson is not to be confused with the miscellaneous crewmember of the same name who worked on Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, but he did like seeing his name in the closing credits.

Mike drew the Astromech droid R2-D2 and noted that it was one of his coolest moments of his illustrating career.[1]

Jackson used a number of models during the course of his Star Wars illustrating, including Rob Deary, Mike Fitzpatrick, Jens Hausser, Tony Heath, David Langtry, Steve Lyons, Dean McGee, Dru O'Higgins, Peter Tupper, Grant Wazney, and John Wong.
