Microscopic imaging systems, also known as microscopic imagers, were installed in the photoreceptors of S-EP1 security droids. When used in conjunction with spectral filters, the microscopic imaging system could create a blinding flash burst that could be used to temporarily incapacitate an target. the droid 8t88 was equipped with a microscopic imager.[1]
