Microlight gliders were a type of simple glider. Poe Dameron built and flew microlight gliders as a child above the treetops of Yavin 4, and once broke his left arm in a glider crash. When Dameron piloted a loader skimmer across the deserts of the planet Pasaana during a Resistance mission, the lack of sophisticated control surfaces and rushing wind reminded him of his time flying microlight gliders.[1]
