- "Mez is a good kid. We can't let her run off with those types."
"Why not? The Pykes run the whole valley now anyway."
"Our daughter's no gangster."
"She's no fool either. They pay better than our catches ever did. We can't expect her to skim drafts off a tailwind for the rest of her life." - ―One of Mez's parents to another one of Mez's parents
A Tosharan engineer was the parent to the female Tosharan Mez and partners with a Tosharan homesteader. During the reign of the Galactic Empire the three of them lived at a windfarm near the town of Jaunta's Hope on the moon Toshara.[1] By 3 ABY,[2] Mez had decided to join the criminal Pyke Syndicate that had expanded its control on the moon to include most of the valley where her family lived.[1] That year,[2] the homesteader argued their partner about Mez's decision to join the Pykes. The engineer pushed back, stating that Mez was smart and understood that the Pykes paid better than wind fishing had for the family.[1]
Behind the scenes
One possible appearance for the engineer
Mez's parent appeared in the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. In the game, they are part of an ambient conversation that players can hear the first time they arrive at the windfarm. Their appearance is randomized for each playthrough, although their species is consistent.[1]
