A metal detector, metal sensor,[1] or metal scanner was a type of sensor.[2] The sensor could also be used to detect metallic salvage[3] and search for metallic ores during mining operations.[1] Metal detectors were employed as security devices at the Lola Curich Starport on the planet Lianna.[4]
