The Merr-Sonn stun baton was a stun baton designed for crowd control. The weapon was manufactured by Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc. and used by the Corporate Sector Authority.
Description
Merr-Sonn's stun baton was a simple weighted club that was installed with a shock charge generator. The baton had a weight inside that could be slid towards one end of the weapon or the other that altered the amount of physical damage that could be dealt out with each blow.[1]
The stun baton had ridges that were fitted with miniature shock projectors along its length that were capable of delivering a painful stun charge. The intensity of the stun setting could be changed by rotating a small dial above the stun baton's recharge socket. Individuals stuck with the stun baton were paralyzed for several minutes, with most victims being rendered unconscious after a single blow. A rechargeable power cell gave the weapon three hours of continuous use.[1]
History
The stun baton was effective against unarmed protestors, and was used extensively by the Security Police of the Corporate Sector Authority. Although marketed as a human crowd-control weapon, Merr-Sonn's stun baton could kill when at full charge.[1]
