Mentor was a rank within the Black Bha'lir, bestowed upon members who had successfully recruited and trained eight smugglers into the society. The rank was not given lightly; the potential Mentor must also have been a member in good standing and have the skills and experiences to train fellow smugglers. Mentors accounted for fifteen percent of the Black Bha'lir's membership.[1]
