The Membrane defense system was a starship deflector shield-like system produced by the Colicoid Creation Nest during the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. It combined a low-strength deflector shield with unknown Colicoid-designed technologies, which provided a constant boost to a ship's evasion rating, and also allowed pilots to temporarily provide an additional massive evasion boost.
