- "I found one of their jackets. They left it behind...probably forgotten in their lustful rampage of destruction. There was also a map to their camp."
- ―Sul Prine, to a spacer
The Meatlump Camps were camps established by the Meatlump criminals on the planet Talus during the Galactic Civil War.
History
- "I hope you make them pay... the foul, degenerate miscreants. Talus was much better off without Meatlumps, and I, for one, look forward to the day in which they are once again gone from this planet."
- ―Sul Prine, to a spacer
The Meatlump Camps were inhabited by a group of Meatlumps,[1] fanatical anti-technology thugs,[2] led by the Meatlump lieutenant Strilath Farles. They had relocated from Corellia to Talus since they were engaged in a violent conflict with a group of Ragtag criminals led by Gramo Murah. The camps were located in the mountains near the city of Nashal.[1]
In 1 ABY,[3] those Meatlumps attacked Sul Prine's house near the city of Dearic and smashed several speeder bikes. When Vani Korr, a Corellia Times reporter who was investigating the Meatlumps, learned of this attack, she tasked a spacer to investigate. The spacer met Sul Prine and then used a map lost by one of the Meatlumps during the attack to localize their camp. The adventurer attacked the camp, killing some Meatlumps in the process, and forced the others to reveal the identity of their leader: Strilath Farles.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Meatlump Camps were a location in the 2003 massively multiplayer online roleplaying game Star Wars Galaxies,[1] prior to the game's closure on December 15, 2011.[4] The Meatlump Camps were added to the game with the update dubbed "Chapter 10: The Search for the Meatlump King," released on June 19, 2008.[5] The Meatlump Camps appeared in the quest "The Meatlumps Hideout, Part 3." If the player starts this quest at the end of the game (combat level 90), the camps would be located on Endor, a world for high-level players. Multiple story elements indicated that the quest was intended to be achieved at CL 65.[1]

- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
