A Marked-Target Firing Lock, also known simply as a firing lock, was a type of ranged weapon attachment that mitigated the chances of unintended casualties. It prevented its user from firing the weapon it was attached to unless the firing lock's sensors detected that there was a clear line of sight to the target that was designated in advance. Marked-Target Firing Locks cost 900 credits, and models included the BlasTech Industries "Surefire" Safety Sensor and the Cadregg Armory Model-87 Weapon Sensor.[1]

Behind the scenes

Marked-Target Firing Locks were first mentioned in No Disintegrations,[1] a 2017 supplement for the Star Wars: Edge of the Empire roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[2]
