The Mark VII gladiator droid was first mentioned in the 2018 book Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide, which was authored by Daniel Wallace and published by Chronicle Books.[1] The Mark VII experimental prototype assassin droid first appeared in the 2003 Star Wars Legends video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, developed by BioWare and published by LucasArts.[2]
