The Makeb Business Council was the government of Makeb prior to its conquest by the Hutt Cartel in 3638 BBY. It was established by the Avesta family, and was headed by Shalim Avesta during the conquest. When the Hutt Cartel wanted a presence on Makeb upon hearing of the world's natural resources, the Council forced the Cartel to sign trade partnerships instead.
