Magnetic fasteners were components with a variety of uses. They used to secure cargo modules onto the deck of Bantha-II cargo skiffs during transit. They were used in conjunction with cargo straps.[1] Alongside locking clamps, magnetic fasteners were used to connect the three pieces of a Defender sporting blaster pistol together. The weapon could break into three pieces for easy concealment once a three-digit code was entered into an access panel located above the trigger.[2]
