Mag-ball was first mentioned in A. C. Crispin's 1998 novel Rebel Dawn, the third entry of The Han Solo Trilogy.^[1] The 2011 BioWare video game Star Wars: The Old Republic introduced an alternate spelling of the sport's name.^[2]
