MK-8 was an RA-7 protocol droid manufactured on[1] the planet[5] Vulpter[1] by Arakyd Industries.[2] The protocol droid had silver plating, black sensors,[1] and stood 1.7 meters tall.[3] During the First Order occupation of the planet Batuu[1] in 34 ABY,[6] there was an outstanding bounty posting of 1375 credits for MK-8 which listed its crimes as conspiracy, illegal programming, smuggling, and slicing, with an order to dismantle the droid upon acquisition.[1]
MK-8 hid in one of the buildings of Black Spire Outpost on Batuu but was located with a thermal scanner by a visitor to the outpost, to whom the bounty had been assigned by the Bounty Hunters' Guild. The visitor then reported the droid's location to the local Guildmaster's Hideout and collected the reward.[1]
Behind the scenes
MK-8 appeared as part of Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters, an augmented reality video game launched at Walt Disney World[1] on July 27, 2022.[7]
