Lyran bloodslugs were omnivorous parasites native to Lyran IV. Prior to the Clone Wars, bloodslugs were exported to Agamar, causing the death of over 100 individuals.[1]
The bloodslugs were commonly used by crime lords to carry out revenge on smugglers or traders by releasing the slugs into the supply of grain carried by their ship. The slugs fattened themselves up until they had a chance to seek out the ship's pilot and burrow into their skin. After the host was slowly drained of blood by the slugs, they would eventually die.[1]
