Lyn Me

Lyn Me was a female Twi'lek who was a member of the Max Rebo Band.

Biography

Lyn Me was a female^[1] Twi'lek who grew up on the barren northern continent of the planet Ryloth.^[2] When Lyn was a young girl, her village was ravaged by slavers. The village elders managed to scrape together enough credits to hire the renowned Mandalorian bounty hunter Boba Fett to exterminate the raiders. Fett's mission was successful, though several villagers were caught in the crossfire of the battle, and the village school was set ablaze. Lyn Me was one of the many children the Mandalorian rescued from the inferno. From that day on, Lyn Me worshiped Boba Fett as a heroic figure, and followed his exploits in the HoloNet news broadcasts.^[4]

As Lyn Me grew up, she studied traditional Twi'lek dance, hoping to become a professional entertainer and find work off Ryloth. After a performance, the Ortolan musician Max Rebo approached Me and asked her if she was interested in joining his band as a backup singer and dancer on their Outer Rim worlds tour. She joined and worked alongside two other dancers, Rystáll Sant, and Greeata Jendowanian in what became the bands most successful tour. She became fast friends with the two dancers and the lead singer of the band, Sy Snootles.^[4]

As they toured the galaxy, she constantly searched her audiences for her hero, hoping to reunite with him and impress him with her talent. She nearly left the band when they began their extended engagement at Jabba's Palace, due to her disgust with the uncouth, lascivious rabble the crime lord attracted. Nevertheless, she stayed with the band when she learned that Boba Fett frequently handled bounties for Jabba.^[4]

Finally, she was reunited with Boba Fett in 4 ABY. She was greatly honored to perform for him, and even more honored when he told her how much he enjoyed her performance. Fett promised to meet up with her again, but their plans were derailed when Luke Skywalker arrived in the palace. After the Battle of the Great Pit of Carkoon, her friends in the Max Rebo Band who accompanied the execution party barely escaped the destruction of Jabba's sail barge Khetanna, and Boba Fett was presumed dead. Lyn Me swore vengeance on Skywalker and his associates.^[4] She came close to assassinating them on three separate occasions, but each time they eluded her. When Boba Fett resurfaced years later, she gave up her vendetta and resumed following the bounty hunter around the galaxy.^[5]

Personality and traits

As Fett saving Me was one of her first memories, it deeply affected her life. Me regarded Fett as a hero and blindly ignored his unfavorable reputation. Becoming infatuated with the bounty hunter, she tracked his career with the hopes of meeting him. After learning of his death, she was crushed and enraged. Me had chalk-white skin,^[1] brown eyes,^[3] and stood at 1.6 meters. She was considered beautiful.^[1]

Equipment

While performing in Jabba's Palace in 4 ABY, Me wore sensua bindings and dance shoes.^[2]

Behind the scenes

Lyn Me was added to the extended musical number in the Special Edition of Return of the Jedi.

In the game Star Wars: Demolition, if the player wins the game as Malakili, his victory movie shows Lyn Me fed to Jabba's rancor. As Demolition takes place during Return of the Jedi when Leia frees Han, Lyn Me possibly met this fate before Luke arrives in the palace and Jabba's entourage go on the sail barge. This conflicts with the books saying the Max Rebo band survived the sail barge led by Lyn Me and Greeta.
