"My friends, I have need of your services once again. I have an extremely valuable cargo that needs to be shipped to the palace of Lungru the Hutt on Joodrudda. It is a gift, meant to seal a bargain between our two clans."
―Mika Anjiliac Chiera[1]

The Hutt Lungru maintained a summer palace on the planet Joodrudda. In 19 ABY, Mika, the leader of the Anjiliac Hutt clan, sent two Corellian sand panthers to the palace as a gift to Lungru.

Description

The summer palace of Lungru the Hutt was situated on Joodrudda, a planet[1] located in Wild Space,[2] close to the border of the Corporate Sector.[1] The palace was a sprawling structure[2] and was the only building of significance on the mostly uninhabited Joodrudda. The retreat was served by a landing pad situated half a kilometer away from the residence and it was defended by two Hutt caravels in orbit over Joodrudda, which monitored access to the palace.[1] Lungru kept in the retreat her personal menagerie of rare and exotic creatures, where they were far away from the view of prying environmentalists.[3]

History

The palace was constructed by an eclectic Hutt clan and was in situ on Joodrudda for several centuries.[2] From at least the early years of the Galactic Empire, the Hutt Lungru[3] of the Nokko kajidic[4] utilized the palace as her summer retreat.[3] She was attended to there by a retinue of Cerean retainers, including her chief advisor Kir Sesad.[1]

In 19 ABY,[5] to seal an agreement between their respective clans, the Hutt crime lord Mika of the Anjiliac kajidic gifted two Corellian sand panthers to Lungru to add to her menagerie. Mika hired[1] the Jedi Master Mander Zuma and the spacers Reen Irana and Eddey Be'ray[6] to transport the creatures to Lungru at her palace on Joodrudda. Mika's agents subsequently hauled the panthers to Joodrudda and unloaded them at the landing bay that served the palace.[1]

Behind the scenes

Lungru's summer palace was created by Jeff Grubb and appeared in Tempest Feud, a roleplaying adventures published on March 1 2002[7] as a supplement to Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars Roleplaying Game and set within Star Wars Legends continuity.[1] The palace was later mentioned in the 2008 compendium The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia,[3] in the entry for Joodrudda, and was also referenced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas.[2] In Tempest Feud, the players roleplay as the agents dispatched by Mika to deliver two Corellian sand panthers to the summer palace, though it is possible also for the players to decline the assignment and therefore not travel to the palace.[1]

  4. Though Tempest Feud does not explicitly identify Lungru as a member of the Nokko kajidic, it identifies her full name as "Lungru Nokko Vimmas" and states that a Hutt's middle name denotes the name of their clan. Therefore it can be concluded that she was a member of the Nokko clan.
