Luke Skywalker's Race Against Time

Luke Skywalker's Race Against Time was a young children's book telling a story about Luke Skywalker flying his X-wing against an Imperial ship headed to a Rebel base. It was written by John Whitman and illustrated by Kilian Plunkett.

As a Cruise Along Book, the book came packaged with a Micro Machines X-Ray Fleet miniature X-wing fighter.

Plot summary

Luke Skywalker leads a squad of fighters to destroy an Imperial Star Destroyer sent to attack a recently discovered Rebel supply base. The fighters fly through a flock of mynocks, and one attaches itself to Luke's X-wing. He shakes the mynock loose after nearly crashing and continues on with the other fighters. They destroy the Star Destroyer and head back to their base.
