Living shields, also known as slave shields, were protective shields used by the Vagaari Empire, the Vagaari species' to discourage counterattacks and force an enemy to cease fire, allowing them to return a massive siege of blasterfire.[2] The Vagaari employed zero-g plastic bubbles on their fleet's hulls as living shields, which contained a prisoner or slave[1] whose screams and cries were broadcast in public comm frequencies.[2] Jedi Master Jorus C'baoth considered the Vagaari an "evil" group after he saw the living shields on their warships' hulls.[1]
