Lightning Storm was a spell that was employed by some of the Witches of Dathomir and many of the Nightsisters on Dathomir. It filled the air with crackling electricity, though it was less powerful than the more focused Force lightning attack.
It was used against Luke and Ben Skywalker when they were following the Sith apprentice Vestara Khai. While it did very little damage to Ben and Luke, it completely shorted out the majority of their electronics, rendering them useless. It even affected their lightsabers, though not nearly to the degree of their other electronics. It also drove off the rancor that they were battling.
