Landing bay X23 appeared in the 2002 Wizards of the Coast roleplaying adventure Tempest Feud, by Jeff Grubb and Owen K.C. Stephens. Landing bay X23 is located on the world that is the starting location for the roleplaying adventure, which can be any world in the Mid Rim or Outer Rim Territories, at the discretion of the gamemaster. Locating the landing bay on a world in the Tion Cluster is recommended while it is specified that the hangar should not be placed on a world sited in the Corporate Sector or Hutt Space.[1]
In Tempest Feud, the player characters are summoned to perform an assignment for the Hutt Popara Anjiliac Diresto and rendezvous at landing bay X23 with Popara's representative Vago Gejalli Thokka and the protocol droid H-3POB. The group then board a Hutt caravel, for transport to Popara's space yacht Imru Ootmian. After meeting with Popara and being briefed on a mission to the quarantined world Endregaad, the player characters return with Vago to landing bay X23.[1]
In the 2012 novel Scourge, an adaptation of Tempest Feud written by Jeff Grubb, the Jedi Master Mander Zuma, spacer Reen Irana and smuggler Eddey Be'ray fulfil the equivalent role of the player characters in Tempest Feud. The novel depicts the trio's meeting with Vago for transport to the Imru Ootmian playing out differently, with the rendezvous taking place at the hangar berth Y-27 on the planet Makem Te, not at landing bay X23. It is therefore assumed that under the official course of events in Star Wars Legends continuity that landing bay X23 was not the site of the rendezvous between Vago and the individuals due to meet with Popara.[2] depicted in Tempest Feud.[1]
