Kwa holdings

The Kwa Holdings were an interstellar benevolent empire in the Outer Rim Territories during the Pre-Republic era. It was dominated by the saurian Kwa of Dathomir whom had mastered the Force which they called the Power of the Cosmos.

History

During the Pre-Republic era the Kwa were a warm-blooded reptilian species that developed intelligence on Dathomir. The Kwa were strong in the Force, which they called the Power of the Cosmos. The Kwa connection with the Power of the Cosmos allowed them to create the Infinity Gates which enabled instantaneous travel and could double as superweapons since they were modeled on Celestial concepts.^[1]

Kwa visited many species such as the primitive Iktotchi.

At some point during the reign of the Kwa, they came into contact with the Gree who had their own from of teleportation called hypergates. The energy outputs generated by the Gree hypergates and the Celestial-derived Infinity Gates provoked a territorial rivalry between the Gree and the Kwa, culminating in a millennia-spanning war that endured until approximately the period in which the Devaronians and Gossams conducted their early tumble hyperdrive experiments around 27,000 BBY.^[1]

According to the Kwa male A'nang, the Kwa brought civilization to the cultures that the Kwa came across.^[2] The Kwa had a pattern of sharing their technology with the peoples they came across. This would be the Kwa's undoing when they visited Lehon where they encountered the primitive Rakata. This resulted in the Rakata learning the Force and obtaining the advanced technology. In time, the Kwa realized they had made a grave mistake, having failed to recognize the Rakata’s true, destructive nature.^[3]

Astrography

The Kwa territorial holdings encompassed the worlds of Salin and Dathomir.^[1] The Kwa also had visited Iktotch and had a lived on Tython for sometime, describing Tython as their Home as well.^[2]

Legacy

The Holocron of A'nang is activated by Je'daii Journeyer, Tasha Ryo.

In 25,793 BBY the Holocron of A'nang, which was constructed by the ancient Kwa A'nang, was activated by Je'daii Journeyer, Tasha Ryo. In the Holocron the A'nang descibed the past of the Kwa and their empire.^[2]

When Jedi Quinlan Vos was imprisoned on Dathomir as a slave by the Nightsisters of Dathomir he communed with a Kwi, a devolved species descended of the Kwa, communed with Vos through the force.^[4]

Behind the scenes

The Kwa Holdings were first developed for the 2000 Comic Star Wars (1998) 24 by writer Pat Mills.^[4] They were first referred to with the title in The Essential Atlas written by Jason Fry and published in 2009^[1]
