This article covers a subject from a Star Wars: Visions story that Lucasfilm declared is set in an alternate history within a reimagined galaxy.

Kutu was a humanoid Sith Master who trained Lola in the ways of the dark side, and hunted her down when she abandoned the Order in search of a peaceful life. He wielded a red lightsaber with an unstable blade, which crackled and sparked when ignited and included a sword shaped design in both the blade and hilt.

Biography

Early life

"You made a promise. Remember?"

At some point, Kutu became the Sith Master to his apprentice Lola, who later abandoned him and the Sith, intending to follow her own path. This led Kutu on a search for his former apprentice, intent on returning her to the dark side.[2]

Eventually finding Lola, he triggered a sensor alert from Beacon 8, luring Lola to him. When she escaped, Kutu's droid's chased after her before being destroyed by Lola and her droid E2. Kutu eventually caught up to her, breaking E2 apart with ease through the force and pursued Lola into her base, where the two dueled. Kutu offered Lola the opportunity to join him once more, stating that if she didn't, the only escape she had was by following the Sith tradition and killing him to become the Master.[2] Eventually, Lola got the better of Kutu, striking him down. He then told her that she was the Sith Master now, before disintegrating.[2]

Legacy

Lola left the planet soon after their duel, finding comfort in having defeated Kutu and that she was now the Master, believing that she could now create her own path.[2]

Powers and abilities

Kutu was a powerful force user, capable of violently ripping apart E2 with ease.[2] He also portrayed skill in wielding his lightsaber, however his skill with his blade was not enough to allow him to kill Lola once she started drawing on both light and dark.[2]

Equipment

Kutu used a respirator and wielded a red lightsaber.[2]

Behind the scenes

Lord Kutu appeared in "Sith," the first episode of Star Wars: Visions' second volume, which premiered on Disney+ on May 4, 2023. He was voiced by Luis Tosar.[2] He was unidentified in the episode and was first identified as Kutu in the Star Wars: Visions Filmmaker Focus featurette about the episode released on May 4, 2023.[3]
