Kumeg was a type of plant that was found on the Chiss Ascendancy planet Celwis, and was edible by insects.[1] In 18 BBY,[2] rancher Xodlak'phr'ooa, core name "Lakphro," grew kumeg seedlings, and set traps for the insects that would sneak bites of the plant. Around that same year, he told his daughter Lakris that he would check on the kumeg seedlings before helping her with their domestic yubals.[1]

Kumeg was mentioned in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good, the second installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
