The Kumauri Empire was a realm of several dozen star systems established by the warlord Vall Kumauri around 10,000 BBY, on what was then the rimward frontier of the Galactic Republic.
History
The Kumauri Empire was short-lived, quickly absorbed by the Galactic Republic, but its legacy survived in a series of massive capital ships capable of planetary bombardment, known as the Kumauri Battleship. The last line in the series was the three kilometer long Cal-class battleship. The primary weapons of these warships were mass drivers that could launch asteroids at surface targets, and were only rendered obsolete by the development of effective planetary shields.[1]
